SPECIAL EVENT: BottleDrop Give is a special event from November 15th through December 2nd to reward and recognize nonprofits who participate in BottleDrop Give. UUFM has registered for this special event, and will receive a 20% match on funds raised through BottleDrop during that period and participate in their social media contest for a chance to win a prize! Pick up your blue BottleDrop bags at service and take your full bags to the BottleDrop Redemption Center between Nov. 15 and Dec. 2. Full details are available on BottleDrop’s website. For more info you can reach out to Cheryl Martin.

UUFM’s Free Community Food Pantry Is Up and Running!

The Dedication/Blessing of the Free Community Food Pantry took place on Sunday, September 21st with three churches participating: UUFM, the First Mennonite Church, and the Rio de Vida Congregation. Each church leader spoke with Rev. Bryan Jessup providing a wonderful blessing and appreciation to the other churches. We filled the pantry with food and hung the signs. Our facebook page, "Free Community Food Pantry", is up and running. (Please "follow" it.) Thank you to all who made this happen and now we need to keep it going. If you are so inclined, stop by with a few cans of food or produce from your garden. "Give What You Can!"

A UUFM member helped found this project which is coordinated through Zero Waste McMinnville. The next plastic collection event is November 1st, 10am-1pm at First Baptist Church, 125 SE Cowls St., McMinnville, OR. For particulars on this event and more about this project, click Learn More.
A UUFM member spearheaded this project. Zero Waste McMinnville is working on a community-wide effort to significantly reduce single-use takeout containers. Customers “check out” a container upon use with a refundable deposit, then turn the container in when returning to any participating restaurant. As of September, 2025, there are 6 participating restaurants which we encourage folks to visit: Bad Dog Bakery, Crescent Cafe, Farmers Market, Good Food Mac, Local Flow and Alchemist Jam.
