UUFM’s Free Community Food Pantry is Working!

Thank you so much to all who donate food and volunteer time to check, clean, etc. at the Free Community Pantry on Fellows St. Some of us have had the opportunity to actually meet some of our guests who have told us how much they appreciate the help and have thanked us profusely. I wish we could all have this experience. Just as we usually don’t know who receives the food, we usually don’t know who brings it either. But we do know that by providing free, nutritious food, in a neighborhood, 24 hours a day, no questions asked, we are giving support to people who need it. Our focus has been people who work during the day and can’t get to pantries with limited hours or who do not have transportation or a parent at home after school, but all are welcome! Together, we are doing good work! Thank you! Thank you! to all who participate. Unitarian Social Justice Committee.

The pantry is located on the grounds of the Mennonite Church's Fellows Street parking lot. The church is on the south side of the corner of Fellows and Cedarwood

A UUFM member helped found this project which is coordinated through Zero Waste McMinnville. The next plastic collection event is August 8, 2026 at the McMinnville Covenant Church, 2155 NW 2nd St. For particulars on this event and more about this project, click Learn More.
A UUFM member spearheaded this project. Zero Waste McMinnville is working on a community-wide effort to significantly reduce single-use takeout containers. Customers “check out” a container upon use with a refundable deposit, then turn the container in when returning to any participating restaurant. As of September, 2025, there are 6 participating restaurants which we encourage folks to visit: Bad Dog Bakery, Crescent Cafe, Farmers Market, Good Food Mac, Local Flow and Alchemist Jam.
